Press Your Luck Online

How to Play Press Your Luck Online

Press Your Luck is an online game available on Facebook. If you've seen the game show on TV, you know what it's all about. You challenge your friends to a game of Press Your Luck, or just close the challenge window that pops up and play whomever else is playing at that time on Facebook.

Playing whomever is available is still very fun! You answer 6 different trivia questions worth $500-$1000 each. You get money for right answers, and a bit extra if you're the fastest one to answer. If you answer wrong, you don't lose money, unless it's the Whammy question.

Whammies are the little red guys that come and creatively steal all your money away. You want to avoid these guys! They are your nemesis on Press Your Luck! You also get two of your friends as "wild cards" when you play Press Your Luck on Facebook. You can choose two yourself, or just use the two it randomly picks for you.

These wild cards are featured in the middle of the multiple choice answers to each trivia question. When you don't  know the answer to a question, click one of your wild cards and hope that person answered it right in the past. If they did, you get the answer right! If they didn't, well hope that question isn't the whammy question.

If you wind up in the top 3 highest scores, you get to go play the Press Your Luck wheel! You hit the "Press" button in the middle and chant, "No whammies, no whammies, no whammies, STOP!" Of course you have to do the chant, it's what we all remember about the Press Your Luck game show on TV. You either win a prize, cash, or you hit a whammy and lose all your money.

Three whammies, and you're out. You can also pass your spins on to another player. You might consider doing this if you get your score really high and don't want to risk hitting a whammy. Otherwise, we all like playing the spins for the most part. Just don't hit those whammies!

Where to Play Press Your Luck Online

You can play Press Your Luck online at Facebook, which is where I like to play. This as mentioned above, let's you play your friends, or just random people who are also playing the game. You can also play Press Your Luck online at gsn.com. I haven't played there myself, but I'm sure it's comparable and fun!

Game Show Network is a popular and reliable site, a good option if you don't want to play on Facebook. There are other places to play the game, but these are the two likely to be the most fun and trustworthy to play on. Have fun!!

How to Play Words with Friends

Flag Post a comment Words With Friends is a fun and addictive game. It's a variation of Scrabble and can really help you hone your vocabulary skills! It's board is slightly different from a Scrabble which allows for high scoring words. Words With Friends is great to get your children involved in, especially as they are learning more advanced reading skills! Words With Friends: How to Play Here are a few step-by-step basics to get you playing the game. Initially you'll have to find a friend to play with. When you choose to start a game with a friend, begin by playing any word horizontally or vertically across the star in the middle of the playing board. You'll notice two-letter abbreviations throughout the board. They appear as DW,DL, TW, and TL. These are important for getting big scores. DW is double word, TW is triple word, DL is double letter, and TL is triple letter. Every letter is worth a certain amount of points. You can see a small number in the corner of each tile denoting it's point value. Letters that are more difficult to play are usually worth more points as well. Playing tiles that are of higher point value across the special squares noted above is a great way to get huge scoring words! Words With Friends: Scoring Scoring in Words With Friends can be kind of tricky sometimes. Pay close attention to the point value of the word. A z for instance is worth 10 points. Playing a word with z in it across a DW or TW square will really boost your score. It is difficult to do, but if you can play a long word with z, and start z off on a triple letter or double letter square and it's long enough to extend to a TW or DW square as well, you are looking at a huge scoring word! You get points for every word you make. For instance, if you were to play a word alongside of another word, you could end up making three or four words in one turn. This is a good strategy to scoring big as well. It takes a little practice to really understand the scoring, but once you're playing you'll pick it up in no time. Using all of your letter tiles for one word gives you an additional 35 points. It isn't easy to do, but be sure and examine your tiles closely and get the best word you can. If you use Facebook then you are used to seeing game boxes pop up on your page a lot. Well Words With Friends allows you to post or "brag" about words you play on occasion. This is nice when you get a particularly high scoring word, especially if the friend you're playing is bragging about their moves! When you do play a word, a small box will appear asking you if that's the word you really want to send. Now if you've played something illegal, like a proper noun, it will also tell you the move is unacceptable. When this box appears, if you are happy with you move then send it to your friend. If you think you can score higher, then cancel the move and try again. Words With Friends: Advertising (Ugh..) Well no game is complete without advertising right?? Words With Friends works their advertising in as well. Whenever you've completed your turn in a match and advertising box appears. When this ad box pops up, you can't see the board or play in that particular match until it's finished. The ad will last maybe or 5 or 10 seconds generally and I usually just wait it out. There are some ways to get the ad free version. You can invite friends or pay to get it. There are many people that do buy the ad free version and it may be worth the money if you play a lot. Playing the ad free version of Words With Friends can save a lot of time if you have many games going at once. Words With Friends: Buttons There are buttons at the bottom of the board you'll need to know for game play. One button that says "more" with an up arrow. This will bring up a box that gives you the option to resign the game if you wish. The game tracks your wins and losses, so don't resign too many, it will be a loss for you. The next button is the "swap" button. This allows you to swap some of your tiles for different ones. The game randomly gives you tiles and on occasion you may get a really bad set of letters, like all vowels or no vowels. That would be a good time to swap some tiles. This counts as your turn, it will swap the tiles and then be your friends turn. Next is the "pass" button, you can use this to pass your turn to your friend. This is used most frequently at the end of the game when playing is sometimes difficult or not possible, then you can pass. The last button is the "shuffle" button and this mixes your letter tiles up. This helps in creating new words by giving you a new view of your letter tiles. Try it a time or two when you're having trouble coming up with a word, it does help! Words With Friends: Chatting You can chat in Words With Friends. There is a chat button located at the top of the board by the scoring area. If your friend is playing at the same time as you, this makes it very easy to communicate. You will know if someone sends you a message by the green bubble that will appear by their name on the left hand side of the screen. You can also just click that area and go to the chat box. Words With Friends: Winning You will continue playing until all the tiles are gone, in which case the highest score wins! Also, you can pass your turn if you are unable to play. There is a button located at the bottom of the board allowing you to pass. Remember though, passing three times in a row causes you to lose! You may also resign the game. Keeping an idea of how many letter tiles are left is a good idea. You can see how many remain in the scoring area. Beside the scores it tells you how many tiles remain. Keeping track of that number will help you strategize your game play. You may need to play offensively to score big and catch your friend's score. You may need to play defensively to keep your friend from scoring. That's the basics of Words With Friends. As you play, you'll learn when to play offensively and when to play defensively. Be sure an experiment a little with words, it's a great way to come up with new great scoring words! So, get your children involved and have fun!! Remove Neighbors from FarmVille

If you're like me then you've probably racked up a ton of FarmVille neighbors just by playing every day and accepting the neighbor request you receive through the game. They have a program called FarmVille Friends that allows you to add neighbors in your game without adding them as friends on your Facebook page. It's really quite handy if you're an avid player and can help you by getting tons of special deliveries among many other things.

The problem that you'll find is many new people start playing FarmVille everyday and they participate in the FarmVille Friends program as well. They will request many neighbors (sometimes you) and then decide the game isn't for them after a few days. That's when you'll find you have some neighbors that are very inactive or don't play at all. There is no point in having neighbors that don't play, they won't respond to your requests or send you gifts back. You are better off noting these players and removing them from your list of FarmVille neighbors.

Removing and Deleting Neighbors from Farmville (The new way)

Once you open the FarmVille game you'll want to look at the top of the screen where the tabs are located. The tabs are in order Free Gifts, Play, Add Neighbors, Invite Friends, Get Farm Cash, Game Cards. Click on the add neighbors tab and you'll be taken to a screen that has more tabs at the top. Click on the "current neighbors tab".

Now as you scroll through their names, a red X appears next to their name. Just click the X and then click confirm that you really want to remove them. And it's done!

Removing Neighbors from Farmville: Why?

There are obvious reason to remove neighbors from your FarmVille neighbor list. The main one is they don't play and won't be helping you. If you've noticed after several weeks of play or requesting things from a certain player and they haven't responded they may not be playing the game anymore. The only thing that may benefit you by keeping them as a neighbor would be to visit their farm and feed their chickens for a chance at mystery eggs. That's assuming they have a chicken coop up and it has chickens in it. Other than that there really is no benefit to keeping them as a neighbor.

Another thing I've noticed by keeping my neighbors limited to about 50 active players is the game runs faster. It doesn't take as long to load when I initially start. Also when sending gifts or requesting things from players it loads it sends the request much faster. I also seem to get less error messages this way. My spouse has about 100 neighbors and it takes twice as long to load the game. We often bring up the game and then go and do dishes or some other chore because it takes so long to load. FarmVille is a great game but anyone can get a little frustrated waiting on the darn thing to load sometimes.

How to Opt Out of FarmVille Friends Program

If you have all the neighbors you need and don't want to be bothered with anymore requests you can turn off the FarmVille Friends program. You simply open the game and click the add neighbors tab at the top of the screen. This will again bring you to the page where you can add and remove neighbors. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Directly underneath your neighbors and any pending neighbor requests you'll see a brown box. This brown box explains what the FarmVille Friends program is and gives you the option to opt out. Simply uncheck the box on the right hand side of the box and you're good to go!

That's all for removing neighbors from FarmVille! Remember keep note of your active neighbors and remove anyone who doesn't play to keep your game loading and playing faster! Have fun and keep on gaming GameVillers!

How To Use Zynga Game Cards on Facebook

The great thing about getting a Zynga game card is that you always get a free virtual gift for your game! They are very simple to use once you know where to go. There are several games that accept the Zynga game cards, just know which one you want to use it for first. The game cards cannot be split between games. When you cash it in it has to be for the full amount on that particular game!

Using the Zynga Game Cards on Facebook

Using the Zynga game card is pretty simple. Just find the tab that says "game cards" in the particular game you are playing. For instance, Farmville has several tabs at the top of the screen that read "Free Gifts", "Play", "Add Neighbors", "Invite Friends", "Get Farm Cash", and "Game Cards". The tab you want is "Game Cards". So locate that tab in the particular game you are playing. Many people make the mistake of going to "Get Farm Cash" or some other similar tab. This is the area where you would go to actually buy credits using your credit card.

Once you've located the "Game Cards" tab for your particular game you can turn your Zynga game card over and very gently rub the silver area off with a coin. It's easy to rub the numbers off underneath if you rub too hard and then you wouldn't be able to cash it in. Scroll down the screen just a little and you'll see a small box and an indicator to enter your numbers or code in that box. Just type your numbers in (accurately) and redeem. Now you'll have a free gift in your gift box!

Participating Zynga Games

There are several participating games so as I said be sure which game you want to use it on because you cannot split the amount of the card. For instance, if you buy a ten dollar Zynga game card you CANNOT use five dollars of it in Farmville and five dollars of it in Cityville. The whole ten dollars must be redeemed for one game or the other. That's the only thing about the game cards I don't like. Last time I checked these games were available for Zynga game cards. FarmVille, CityVille, CastleVille, Cafe World, Zynga Poker, Empires & Allies, The Pioneer Trail (FrontierVille), Adventure World, Mafia Wars, Treasure Isle, YoVille, Mafia Wars 2, Hidden Chronicles, Zynga Bingo, and I believe Vampire Wars as well. Since Zynga has many games and are making more all the time double check your game and ensure it accepts the Zynga game cards before purchasing one.

Where to Get Zynga Game Cards

There are many participating retailers out there that you can purchase your Zynga game card from. Some of the most common ones include Walmart, Walgreen's, Seven Eleven, Hasting's, Target, and Game Stop. I've always gotten mine at a convenient store. Since I rarely buy them and tend to just save up my Farm cash as I level up I generally walk in the store for milk or some other item and end up seeing the Zynga game cards by the counter. Well I sometimes just can't help myself and I'll get one. I have to admit they very entertaining and there's always some virtual item I'm wanting. They do make great gifts or stocking stuffers around Christmas time as well!

You can also purchase Zynga eCards online. Zynga sells these and when you buy one they deliver it to your email. Pretty handy if you don't go out much. You can get one of the eCards by visiting this site Zynga eCards and clicking on the buy eCards tab.

Problems with Zynga Game Cards

On occasion you may have difficulty redeeming a game card. There are several reasons why this may be. Zynga handles all problems like that and has some tips and a support area to help. If you are having problems with your game card visit Zynga.com and go to the support area for help.

Well that's it for game cards. Have fun with your Zynga game card and keep on gaming Gamevillers!

Also, several Farmville players have been having difficulty posting request for the items needed. It is very frustrating at times so just try to be patient, I'm sure they are working on a fix. You can go to this Farmville Forum Facebook page if you would like to voice some complaints about it or read what other problems people are having. Just try to hang in there and keep on gaming Gamevillers!
